As divorce, child custody, and family law attorneys practicing in Plano, Allen and McKinney of Collin County and Denton County, Texas, Easley & Marquis offers legal counsel in the areas of family, estates and civil law.
Calling an attorney for the first time can be intimidating. At Easley & Marquis, we understand this and make every effort to put our potential clients at ease. We view every potential case as a priority and schedule face-to-face initial meetings with attorneys. There is an initial consultation fee of $200. Many other law firms schedule the initial meeting with staff members, but we are committed to opening the door to a relationship with your attorney from the moment you walk in the door.
Potential clients can call in and request a specific attorney or they will be assigned an attorney for the first meeting. Prior to the first meeting a conflicts check will be processed and should a conflict exist the potential client will be notified immediately. If there is a conflict we will offer names of attorneys outside of our firm who may be able to handle the case.
Potential clients are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their appointment to complete the intake questionnaire. Potential clients can also download this form (General Information) and bring it with them to the meeting. There are also several documents, listed below, which we ask potential clients to bring with them to assist us in evaluating their needs.
When potential clients arrive at the office a legal assistant will review the documents and intake questionnaire to answer any questions about the form and ensure that they are completed. The legal assistant will bring the forms and introduce the potential client to the attorney.
The goal of the initial consultation is to discuss the potential client’s issues and let them know their legal rights.
